My waste of time movie

Just this Christmas, i felt the urge to support Pinoy films so I went to watch some film entries of Manila film festival. My friends and I were choosing between two films: shake rattle and roll 8 and Matakot ka sa karma.. I remember that we were with Mayenne and she didn't want to watch. One of our friends even had to force her to watch. So we settled with Shake Rattle and Roll 8 because the previous shake rattle and rolls were pretty scary films. So we started.

The first segment already gave us the BIGGEST KROOO of our lives. It was "UUUUUUUUUH." but no, we reamined optimistic. We hoped that the second segment would compensate for the poor quality of the first one. But, AAAAH! it was worse! The effects were bad, the acting looked like it wasn't even directed. There was totally NO STORY. It was completely predictable!! We were so disappointed to the point that we left the cinema in the middle of the movie..

Our friend who forced Mayenne to watch had to buy her Auntie Anne's to compensate for her wasted 100bux. I, on the other hand, pigged out like anything. When you're money's been wasted for a movie, eat up. It will make you feel better. hahaha

My Favorite Movie

I have favorite movies from both pinoy and american worlds. In hollywood, my choice of movies would be those comics turned into film and 3-d animated ones. Although the comic-films weren't completely loyal to the story, i found them very entertaining. Spiderman, X-men and Sin City are some of my picks. I love the way they designed and presented the character. Being the 'techie' i am, i'd say that their visual effects were very good. I'd like to give a two thumbs-up for Sin City, which was able to capture the RGB coloring scheme throughout the film. It was truly artistic.

In 3-d animated films, I really love Shrek and Happy Feet. I really liked the story and characters! Happy feet made me laugh even if i watched it alone. It actually made me want to have a penguin afterwards (hehe:)) Shrek also made me laaaaaaaaaaaugh! especially Donkey. (haha!)

In Pinoy world, my favorite film would be Ama, Ina, Anak and Got to Believe. Ok, before any major reactions, let me explain. The first one was a really touchin movie about an adopted child. The father was played by Edu Manzano, the Mom was Maricel Soriano and the child was Angelica Panganiban. It always made me cry everytime I watch it. For some reason, the acting was simply great. The way Angelica portrayed the child's desire for parental love was the best. Her innocence and emotions were complementing each other. Thus, whenever she'd cry, I felt like crying too!! I swear, I could finish a whole box of Kleenex tissue whenever i watch that film. The second one was a love story. No, I am NOT a fan of Rico Yan. I repeat, NOT A FAN OF RICO YAN. I liked it because of they way it portrayed the whole "falling in love" aspect. I clearly remember a scene of Rico Yan noticing Claudine Barretto while she pulls back her hair. RIGHT THEN AND THERE! hahaha! Wala lang, it was soo weird when Ms. Mac actually mentioned the film in class. I was actually ashamed to let anyone know that I liked the movie! (hehe! at least i'm not the only one!) haha!

Hey, Mr. Postman

Dear Mom,
Funny isn't it? by the time you're reading this, i must be dead but pls don't cry? It's enough that i won't be seeing you smile anymore, and i would as much as possible keep that image of u smiling rather than crying?
well, this is supposed to be a farewell letter but i don't wanna say goodbye. How about see you later? Someday we'll see eachother again? (OK MOM, i bet you're smiling now, cause for once, i am dramatic!)
First of all, thank you for giving me a home like no other. Thanks for giving me a place to look forward to everyday. Thank you for giving me a life filled with memories that I can cherrish forever. You're the best mom for me! Im sorry for the times i got you upset, i'm sory for the times i didn't follow your orders. I'm sorry for the times that i was hard headed. More importantly, Im sorry for the times i missed to give you a hug, a kiss or even say 'i love you' because i had somewhere to go. Mom, pls remember that you'll always be God's best gift to me. Love you!
Pls let Achi, dichi, carlo and dad know that i have always loved them even if i spend most of my time annoying them. Please let them know that all this time, i never meant to hurt them or make them cry. please let them know that i will always remember how they made me laugh and cry every time we're together. Because of that, i have with me the memories of having siblings that make you feel welcome anytime you want to go home. Again, thank you and i love you too!
Pls let my friends know that i would like to thank them for all the support and fun times that we've shared. I will surely miss their smiles, laughter and teasing. I will miss the times that we'll forget about everything and just laugh our lungs out. I will miss the times that I had a shoulder to cry on. I will miss the times when they adopt me everytime i don't have a place to go. I will miss the times that we shared food and took pictures. I will certainly miss every moment that we've spent together. However, everything comes to an end right? I'm just happy that my memories with them ended with a smile. Please tell them that in my burial, i want them to smile ok? Probably, i'll be smiling with them as well. In this way, i would feel that my funeral will just be like some other lunch time that we've spent together, smiling and laughing. Tell them that I love them too and I'm sorry if i had to say goodbye like this. Tell them that i will be seeing them soemtime again.
Pls let my teachers and yayas know that they have been second mothers to me, their guidance means a lot. though i dont show it often, i am grateful for everything they have taught and given me. Im sorry for he times i got them pissed. I really didn't mean it!:(
Finally, i would like my eulogy to be a happy one. Pls play the song "with a smile" by Eraserheads and "I'll Remember" by Madonna during my funeral. Finally, can everyone pls wear anything but black? Ifeel that black is such a dense color and besides making you look slim, it makes you really sad. I don't wanna have a sad death. Please, make it light for everyone? and i shall be happy watching you guys wherever I am.
P.S. I really meant it when i said i love you mom;)
Love with a thousand smiles,
Jeselle

Asking God

If you can ask God one question what will it be?
Well before I answer this question, it actually reminded me of a song by Joan Osborne called "One of us". The question is parallel to the lyrics:)
haha ok, seriously, if i can ask God one question, I would ask Him:

"When is judgement day?"

I know it's weird and funny to ask the question but seriously, i would like to live to see the day. Or is it even possible to be "alive" that day (ok, kung pwede may follow up question, yan ang susunod) I know life is short and time won't stop for anything. They say that in judgement day everything will be revealed and you will be judged accordingly. Certainly, I am afraid but we all gotta face it anyways. If there is such a date then I'd better prepare for it!:) ahhaa!! weird no? pero it's the ultimate question talaga! haha! oh well but as of now, enjoy life muna pero i would always have that in mind:)

If you could ask someone (dead or alive) something what and who will it be?
The person whom I will ask is my mother and my question will be:

"How does it feel to be a grandmother?"

I often stare at my mom whenever she holds her grandsons. it seems like a perfect picture. so sweet. I'm too shy to ask her beacuse she might just make me "bara" by saying that i think she's too old or that i should be a mother first. Well, newsflash! that won't happen in like a decade or so! hahaa! well she once threw a phrase at me hoping that i'll understand at my own language:

"Ang mga anak, capital iyan; ang mga apo ang interest"

SURPRISE! i don't get it. haha

The Interview (with parents)

1. What was the funniest thing I did when I was a baby?
According to my mom, I used to stretch my feet up in order for them to reach my head! God, this is so weird hahaa

2. What was my first word?
My very first word was "MAPA" in the attempt to say MAMA and PAPA at the same time. Hey at least i tried! haha

3. What was my first food/favorite food?

My first favorite food was Gerber and Cerelac! I was quite a “matakaw” kid according to my mom. I tried to eat everything that was given to me.

Note: “Hwag tatanggi sa grasya! Hehe”

"the early beginnings" ahaha

4. What was the craziest thing you did when you were a student?

My dad was a self-confessed “nerd” or smarty pants so he really didn’t do anything crazy. Yeah, I know, sad life. On the other hand, my mom was the class’ rebel kid. (WOW what a match don’t u think?) My mom loved her nails too much so the craziest thing she did was purposely fail he Physical Education class because she refused to hit the volleyball since her nails might get damaged. My lola scolded her a hundred times for that.

5. How did you and dad/mom meet?

Wow! Nice question. Actually, even if I don’t ask them, I quite know their love story. Yes, I am the most inquisitive daughter alive. (haha) So, their love story very much goes like the “Mano Po” movies. My mom’s pure Chinese while my dad is Filipino. Way back, it wasn’t traditionally accepted that Chinese women may have relationships with Filipino men. But then as my mom would say it “Pag-ibig eh” so they fought for their love. My dad actually skipped an opportunity to study in Harvard as a scholar just to marry my mom! (WOW) oh yeah, they actually met in college while taking Accounting class. It all started with my dad having excess money in the phone booth after talking with a friend. My dad didn’t want to step out of the booth for some reason so he dialed any number he knew (WHICH he claims was my mom’s. Oh my what a style! Ahaha). So, one phone call evolved to two phone calls and so on.

fruits of their love:

6. If you could do anything other than what you are doing now, what would it be?

My mom acknowledges the fact that she is a frustrated:

1. Traffic Aid- yes, it is her hobby to make signs for someone who is parking OR fixing the car's parking spaces.

2. Chef- My mom is the best cook EVER (except in baking ahhaha!)

3. Fashionista- sadly, my mom didnt make it as a designer. However, she had her chances in dressing up THREE DAUGHTERS which includes me, until we were 10 ahhaa! you could just imagine our clothes. here is a sample:

HAHAHA. there are worse dresses btw, hahaha i'm to shy to upload them:)

My Dad acknowledges the fact that he is a frustrated:

1. Boxer- yes he is the biggest fan

2. Tennis Player - yes, he is still the biggest fan

3. Basketball player - yes, again, he is the biggest fan

4. Golfer - i guess you know what i will say.

Note: My dad is really serious about these sports. Sadly, the sport wasn't friendl to him! hahaha

7. Tell me a secret you kept from your parents.

My Mom and Dad both kept their relationship a secret for the longest time! hahaha! (CORNY!!!) however, without their perseverance of loving eachother, there will be no Jeselle today;)

8. Tell me something about you that I still don't know.

Mom: HAY NAKO! TAMA NA NGA! hahaha! ( I believe my mom refuses to answer. This is her way of saying: ALAM MO NA LAHAT kasi ang dami mong tanong palagi! haha)

Dad: I am the most handsome father in the world. (OMG, yes, these were his actual words. Syempre, i cannot contradict. this is because if i say he's pangit, i, the product, will also be the same! hahaha!)

AHAHHAA!

Jeselle is..
Jeselle’s a friend.
Jeselle’s a sister.

noise maker.

Jeselle’s a fighter,
not much of a lover.

Jeselle’s bitter,
but can be sweet.
Jeselle’s neat and
She loves to eat.

Jeselle’s a confessed drama queen.
Although she doesn’t have a celebrity skin.
Jeselle has attitude,
and it comes from within.

Jeselle’s a shoulder to cry on.
You can say she’s like cotton,

She’s comfortable to wear

Whenever you need her,
She’s always there.

*

Jeselle is a woman,
as opposed to a girl.

Jeselle loves the camera
The number of her pictures is like “whoa!”

She didn’t know how to go the spa,
But now she knows thanks to Carla, Mon and Tina!

*

Jeselle hates Monday mornings
Because of the hassle it brings.

Jeselle also hates Sunday
Because after that is Monday

Jeselle hates arrogance
I’m telling you in advance.

*

Jeselle knows forgiveness,
She wishes she would always be forgiven.

Jeselle knows sorrow,
God give her strength.

Jeselle knows regret,
That, she will never forget.

Jeselle knows hope
And wishes that she would never cea
se to believe.

Jeselle has faith,
In every little thing that she loves.

*

Jeselle is thankful
For every breath she takes,
For every tear she cries,
For every memory that flies,
For every sunrise she sees,
For every laughter she gives,
For every friend she receives.

*

Simply Beautiful.
I
